I wanted to be a vet nurse since I was a little girl, I followed that path despite being told I would never get a job working with animals. I started after school at the age of 15 seeing practice and eventually qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse at the age of 21.I worked in Edinburgh for 3 years, working with 1 vet and for some of the time with one other nurse but otherwise solely.I then applied to East Neuk, where my skills grew in surgical nursing and learning to work as part of a team. Becoming confident in my role over 7years I then decided I needed a new challenge and moved to St. Clair. This move was going to bring me back to general nursing and experience more medical nursing (during training this was my passion) but after a short 10 months was missing my role at East Neuk too much and was welcomed back.Since returning to East Neuk I was privileged to be asked to promote up to Deputy head nurse then to Head nurse, this has come with many challenges but I am learning everyday and trying to better myself to fulfil the role competently for the rest of the team.
