Fundraising Chairperson for Los Angeles Chapter – Selected in June 2009 as the Fund Raising Chairperson for the LA Chapter of this national non-profit organization. Position responsibilities entailed chairing their largest annual holiday fundraiser, comprised of a boutique, a silent auction, a luncheon, entertainment, and a raffle. Duties included negotiating event pricing with hotels, reviewing contracts, writing and editing all print materials, hiring event entertainment, selecting luncheon menus, overseeing raffle prizes and the sale of tickets, securing donation commitments, negotiating audio/visual services and contracts, complying with city requirements and regulations to maintain non-profit status, facilitating newspaper articles about the event, establishing a link on our website for our internet clientele, utilizing internet channels to advertise our event. Chairing this event twice, once in 2009 and again in 2010. At both events, attendance and donations were substantially greater than the previous year’s. Active Member - Actively involved since 2004 in this 50 year old national organization that helps children who are victims of child abuse. This involved monthly meetings and fundraisers that support this charity. We brought more awareness to the community about child abuse and its prevention.
