I came to this work as a result of *Curiosity about racial differences as a K-12 student on a newly integrated campus* Creating the first Black History class at my high school* Petitioning the federal government to make Martin Luther King Day a national holiday* Bringing key voices in the Civil Rights movement to Lehigh University* Facilitating University of Michigan’s first courses on Intergroup Relations and ConflictUsing an engaging, thought provoking mix of historical, contemporary information about cultivating and managing diversity and inclusive excellence in the context of your field or mission, I help individuals and groups:- develop a practical understanding of the value, benefits, costs and challenges of working with (and within) culturally and socially diverse groups- learn, share and practice ways to integrate cultural differences to fuel creative problem-solving, including ways to improve communication and conflict resolution skills- identify, minimize or erase inter-group differences that fuel dysfunctional dynamics - authentically embrace an insightful, challenging and productive journey of ongoing cross-cultural collaboration.
