About Andrea Morandi

I study the mechanisms that govern the most common type of breast cancer, i.e. those positive for estrogen-receptor. This subset of breast cancers accounts for two in every three breast cancers and they can be treated with endocrine therapy. Despite the initial clinical benefit, patients can relapse with resistant disease. I am trying to identify the molecular and metabolic pathways that influence response and resistance to endocrine therapy, to find innovative predictive markers or potential therapeutic target.I am interested in the identification of metabolic determinants of therapy resistance in a wide range of solid tumors.
