Biochemistry student at the University of Texas at Austin. Interested in being conducting research involving biochemistry, molecular biology, antibiotic treatment, and drug development. Also was part of the Freshman Research Initiative (FRI) program and was part of the FRI stream called Virtual Cures with Dr. Josh Beckham. From there I learned how to use the molecular screening software PyMol and virtual screening software GOLD to find novel ligands as potential drug targets for proteins. In wet lab, I learned how to do expression, purification, characterization of cells to study proteins and DNA sequences. I want to gain more research expericne to help me break into the biotechnology industry after graduation.
