Hi, I’m Andrea Nguyen, a 3rd year ECE student specializing in Software Engineering at UT Austin. It’s easy to get lost in the world of tech with the animal terminologies that it likes to use. Python, bugs, CodingBat… the world can truly be your oyster within this field! One of the most exciting fields for me is cloud computing. The ability to build, deploy, and scale applications effortlessly in the cloud is revolutionizing how businesses operate. During my internship this summer, I had the opportunity to work on cloud technologies and transform traditional systems to provide scalability, reliability, and advanced features that were previously unattainable. This freed up resources for more innovative projects, highlighting how cloud technology can optimize operations and drive growth.The voicemail migration project I worked on this summer was rewarding because it modernized an outdated system, allowing call agents to focus more on their work instead of navigating cumbersome, outdated tools. By implementing cloud solutions, I contributed to a product that streamlined workflows and reduced technical friction, making their day-to-day tasks smoother and more efficient.Ultimately, my work in technology is about people. Every line of code I write, every system I improve, is aimed at making someone’s life better. This human-centric approach to technology is what excites me the most. I am passionate about leveraging my skills and experiences to create solutions that empower others, improve efficiency, and foster genuine human connections. Technology’s potential to drive positive change and make a real difference in people’s lives is what keeps me inspired and motivated every day.
