I was born and raised as a fifth generation cattle rancher in rural Wyoming. I left my Western roots in the fall of 2011 in order to attend Bowdoin College. I graduated in May 2015 with both a B.A. in History and a B.A. in Spanish as well as a minor in Teaching. After graduating, I spent 10 months as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant (ETA) in Ecuador. I returned home to Wyoming for several months to work on my family's ranch and as a long-term ELL sub in the local elementary school before returning to Maine to complete my teaching certification. From there, I took on my next personal and professional challenge and opportunity as the 11-12 Spanish Teacher at Codman Academy Charter Public School from 2017-2021. After nearly a decade away from the West, I finally returned and am excited about my new role as a middle school Spanish and Social Science teacher at Steamboat Mountain School. I am a passionate educator dedicated to using the world as our classroom to prepare students for an ever-changing world.
