Special Education Department Lead • Support the Office of Special Education Services‘ goals, objectives, operational procedures, and act as program advocate within the building • Coordinate campus ARD/IEP committee meetings and monitor the implementation of ARD/IEP decisions, graduation plans, transition services, and instructional testing, as necessary• Act as liaison between administrators and faculty/staff to facilitate educational programming for students with disabilities• Obtain and fill out all documents for special education students and input data into EASYIEP• Monitor campus case management• Collaborate with the diagnostician, speech therapist, occupational therapist, AI specialist, AU specialist and VI specialist on a weekly basis• Organize and lead special education informational meetings for community members • Coordinate compilation of information related to litigation for TEA or OSEP complaints • Facilitate in-services related to the education and service for students with disabilities• Work with teachers and the building principal to identify curriculum needs and suggest ways to update and modify curriculum design, strategies and materials• Coordinate the review and analysis of building-level test results and lead in the development of departmental plans to address areas in need of improvement• Analyze department data, create bi-weekly goals and implement new processes• Monitor medical appointments for all students with disabilities
