I conducted food safety audits on various suppliers as well as took care of the day-to-day running of the food services division. I made sure that the auditors had their schedules in place for the audits that they were going to conduct for the week ahead and that they met their various deadlines. The audit program that we had in place included checking that GMP’s and HACCP was in place. We also took micro samples that were taken to the lab for testing. I completed a course in HACCP. I was instrumental in getting the company to purchase a new electronic auditing system at the end of 2007. I liaised directly with the client and attended meetings on the company’s behalf including travelling to meetings around the country. I was involved with the formulation of the budget for the department. We had approximately 150 suppliers that were audited twice a year. I also ran a taste testing programme for the client, for which I, once a month, purchased 65 products and their comparator which we tested against each other. All events, procedurally needed to be prepared and registered within the governmental administration system.
