• Operation and management of two clinics, starting with 84 patients, and grew to 146 patients, and staff of thirty-five. • Develop staffing and ensure staff certification and licensing.• Ensuring policies and procedures are followed and all staff members comply with local and federal laws. • Maintaining and complying with all budgetary guidelines and taking an active role in all manager meetings. • Educate technical and nursing staff on the care, treatment, assessment, and emergency care in ESRD.• Educate patient and family on ESRD; ESRD modalities, infection control and home management.• Train new nurses on how to initiate, maintain, and discontinue dialysis treatments via catheter, vascular access• Train new nurses on ESRD medication administration, infection control, and MD collaboration.• Prepares patient and staff schedules, assigns duties, coordinates with MSW, RD, and CAPD Coordinator. • Makes routine patient rounds to identify patient needs, assess quality of care and resolve issues. • Maintains appropriate infection control per CDC guidelines. • Responsible for ESRD CQI Outcomes, data collection, submission and development and implementation of action plans for improvement. • Monitors biomedical department. • Monitors and conducts medication inventory. • Monitors the clinic for any safety hazards. • Monitors the vaccination programs. • Acts as an educational liaison for staff and patients. • Conducts patient care conferences, reviews and maintains medical staff files, involves physicians in education of staff, and keeps Medical Director informed of events in the unit. • Heads and participates in the QI/UM committee meetings for all managed entities. Implements all instructions and/or directions of grievances of the governing bodies and medical directors.• Develops and implements the annual UM/QI Program and Description in accordance with state and Federal regulations, NCQA and HEDIS guidelines, within the required time frame.
