Kennedy Academy is a public separate facility for student with disabilities that are not successful on their home campus. The majority of the students who attend this program have Autism or Emotional Disabilites. My experience and job duties include: development of programing and instruction for the opening of the facility, implementing the mission and vision of the program providing professional development and instructional support to the staff, ensuring the legal standards outlined by IDEA and state regulations, and using data to identify and prioritize areas for improvement

Supervised interventions specialist at 3 district campuses and attended IEP meetings for students who had been placed out of district. Additional duties included:ensuring legal compliance, professional development and open communication with parents.

Collaborated with the curriculum department to align accommodated and modified instructional materials. Monitored IEP compliance for specially designed instruction, professional development, instructional coach trained through the University of Texas, Completed the rising administrator program

Worked with the general education facilitators to accommodate and modify curriculum materials to be used in classrooms across the continuum of services. Supported special education teachers with aligning their IEPs to the individualized evaluations. Provided professional development on topics such as modifying the curriculum, writing standards based IEPs, transition planning, and alternate assessment implementation
