As an academic and educator, I am well versed and experienced in research, analyzing, interpreting, writing, speaking, guiding, and encouraging others to enhance their own critical thinking skills. I have taught and tutored for six years, presented a variety of my own research at numerous academic conferences, and I have had my work published.I have completed research in Mexico, Argentina, and Russia. The history of Latin America, the United States, and the modern world have been the subjects of my teaching. The focus of my studies, writings, and presentations are on how Russian immigrants impacted Mexican popular culture: thus, re-shaping that country's idea of nationalism after the revolution. One of these essays has recently been published in the book "New Directions in Transnational History: Mexico on the World Stage" edited by historians James A. Garza and Matthew D. Esposito. Travel, culture, and education have always been intertwined with my academic pursuits.Not only have I studied in Russia and throughout the Americas, I have engaged in volunteer tourism, celebrated holidays, and visited many historical sites and museums throughout Honduras, Belize, Turks and Caicos, the Dominican Republic, Argentina, England, Scotland, Ireland, Germany, Belgium, France, Spain, Italy, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Greece, Russia, Mexico, Canada, and all over the U.SI am also an enthusiast of the arts. I have danced, sang, and acted my whole life; I have performed in many community theater shows and numerous recitals and various conventions. For the past ten years, I have competed in Ballroom and Latin Pro-Am's. I am also an avid artist as I sketch in my spare time. I have recently begun learning how to paint and I dabble in home design for myself and family members. My successful experiences in travel, art, and academia could not have been possible without great advisors and mentors. I intend to pursue a career, in which, I too can foster someone's creative and academic future while collaborating with similarly opined others.
