A family business for the production of wine grapes located in Oltrepò Pavese. For the company I’m actually in charge of the accounting and financial management.

In charge as Manager of Research of three departments (Earth and Environmental Science, Physics and Mathematics) I support researchers on projects’ submission for European (Horizon2020, ERC, Marie-Curie), regional and national applications. My tasks involve project management activities such as budgeting, project’s auditing, submission strategy, and many others. Moreover, within the initiative “INROAd”, a research project jointly financed by the European Commission (Marie-Curie) and the University of Pavia; I’m in charge of studying the Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) dimensions of the university and identify future polices/actions to be implemented. Being part of the Research and Third Mission Unit I also provide assistance and consultancy on data analysis and data management.

Topic of the dissertation: Growth and performance of Science-based FirmsWithin the PhD:• 2018: R&D Management conference, presentation of the paper “Entrepreneurial Ecosystem in Science-Based Firms: toward a theoretical approach” • 2017, Lyon (FR): Visiting period at the research centre Magellan in Lyon, I conducted my second study interviewing key elements of the ecosystem such as Lyonbiopole, Pulsalys, Région Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and several Science-Based Firms in the field of Medical Devices, Biology and Diagnostics.• 2017, xPORT VŠE Business accelerator (Prague): Within the work for a project proposal, I participated to a workshop at the accelerator for the evaluation of the best projects to be included in the acceleration program.• 2017, MARCIEE: Within an Erusmus+ funded project I participated in the coordination of the program for the duration of 3days in which students had to develop a business idea.• 2015/2016, PrimeFish: Collaborating in project development and task completion regarding seafood consumption in the Italian market.

Research period in which I collected interviews among entrepreneurs and public institutions in science-based businesses

In charge of coordinating the agent’s network in the Italian market my main task was to set new sales strategies with the main Italian distributors and to position the company in a new and actual market context through on-line sales and increased efficiency in terms of deliveries.

In charge of the warehouse activities, my main tasks were oriented toward the monitoring of inflows and outflows of goods with the objective to improve general efficiency. Moreover, I was in charge of the inventory management, staff coordination and stock records. I also took part in export activities providing logistic support to the export department for the coordination and organization of overseas expositions and shipments.

Working with the firm’s Financial Manager I was asked to provide information for the ongoing activity, together with accuracy of accounting entries, preparation of the consolidated balance sheet and the preparation of the monthly provisional budget. Being able to work with the software Microsoft Access I created applications for the support of the sales department for shipment’s cost calculation and pricing and to the logistic department for the optimization of warehouse space.

Firstly, engaged in administrative department as accountant for activities such as bank records and invoice entries. After few months of improvement my tasks were extended to activities connected to sales department (sales analysis, data forecasting, financial reports) in direct contact with the CEO/founder. I also performed market analysis for new business venues in emerging countries (mainly Latin America) and I participated to due diligences for product’s acquisitions.
