End Violence Against Women Coalition (EVAW) is a ​​leading national membership organisation of over 155 specialist women’s support services, researchers, activists, survivors and NGOs working to end violence against women and girls (VAWG) in all its forms. Established in 2005, we engage with our members and draw on the latest insights, evidence and research to develop policy recommendations and campaigns aimed at preventing and tackling violence against women and girls, rooted in an understanding that VAWG is a violation of human rights and a cause and consequence of gender inequality, compounded by structural inequalities and discrimination. Taking an intersectional, feminist, anti-racist approach, we work to transform the political and social systems that enable violence against women. We drive social change through campaigning and shaping policy, and by challenging the wider cultural attitudes that tolerate and normalise this abuse.As Executive Director my responsibilities include developing and implementing our strategic plans in line with the visions and values of EVAW, public spokesperson raising awareness of the charity’s objectives, overall coordination of the staff team, ensuring compliance with legal and good practice requirements in financial management, governance, employment /contracting, fundraising and grant holding. I direct the organisation’s core campaigning work to improve legislative and policy responses to domestic abuse, sexual violence and other forms of VAWG.

The London Policing Board was created by the Mayor in response to one of Baroness Casey’s recommendations in her review of culture and standards in the Metropolitan Police Service, which followed a series of scandals rooted in long-running cultural and performance issues within the Service, and a diagnosis by Casey of institutional racism, misogyny and homophobia. As a member of the London Policing Board I support the Mayor in providing strong oversight of the Metropolitan Police, and improve the openness and transparency of how the Met Commissioner is held to account for delivering his New Met for London plan to reform the Service and the policing commitments of the Mayor's Police and Crime Plan.

I Co-Chair the Mayor of London's Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) Board. This partnership board provides strategic leadership for VAWG in London and is responsible for overseeing delivery of the Pan London VAWG Strategy.

Advisor to the Victims' Commissioner for England and Wales, Baroness Helen Newlove, on how best to fulfil her statutory obligations, including what policies and practices she should be advocating.

The Advisory Board will play a critical role in the strategic development of the Centre's ongoing collaborative work in criminal justice research and reform.

ECPAT UK is a leading children's rights organisation working to protect children from trafficking and exploitation.In this role I developed policy positions and delivered advocacy and campaigning objectives relating to anti-child trafficking efforts in the UK. Designed effective public affairs strategies and developed relationships with Parliamentarians and key stakeholders to inform their understanding of child trafficking in the UK. Undertook original primary research on child trafficking including interviews and focus groups with stakeholders and former child victims of trafficking attending the ECPAT youth groups. Lead author of research report on trafficked and unaccompanied minors going missing from the care of UK local authorities, Heading Back to Harm (published November 2016) Expert speaker at numerous conferences and events on human trafficking in the UK and EU. Part of a delegation of UK experts from children’s charities who presented to EU wide conference on missing migrant children, hosted by Missing Children Europe and the Maltese President's Foundation in Malta 2017.Worked on projects which promoted partnership working with non-statutory and statutory organisations involved in anti-trafficking, including the Metropolitan Police (child abuse and human trafficking divisions). Delivered ECPAT UK training courses to frontline professionals, including a tailored programme of training with the Metropolitan Police Modern Slavery Unit, and coordination of DfE funded training programme for foster carers across England.
