Amani is the Swahili word for peace. Operation Amani aims to overcome many of the challenges of gun violence prevention, recidivism, and the effects of trauma. Our acting principles are anchored in a model of HOPE: Health and well-being that build resilience, Opportunity: social and economic, Place Making: resources and housing; and Engaging those in the community who can influence behavior change and cultural norms. Through community, family, and faith collaborations, we believe that one can overcome life’s obstacles and accomplish holistic healing.Operation Amani provides a place of hope, healing, training, and support to the formerly gang-involved and previously incarcerated populations. The blueprint of our organization is based on the 30-year-old, Los Angeles-based, largest gang rehabilitation and re-entry program in the world named Homeboy Industries.

We teach brave communication strategies to companies and teams who seek to achieve the extraordinary through trust and collaboration. I have written two books on the uses of mindfulness practice and improvised comedy skills for engaging the brave and often difficult conversations that ultimately create culture. I perform regularly on two improv teams at Arcade Comedy Theater. Kill Screen is a long form improv, Harold team, and The Smallest Show in Town is an independently produced variety show that performs monthly at Arcade. There are a variety of acts including improv which is inspired by the stories, songs and other acts in the show. I served for one year on the Arcade Leaderboard as the Youth Outreach Coordinator responsible for booking our family-friendly, short form improv house team (The Penny Arcade) for local organizations in the community. The improv in this show is inspired by suggestions from children and is delivered in a Who's Line Is It Anyway style show.

The goal of this group is to do our part in depolarizing America so we can make meaningful progress toward a more perfect union full of justice, domestic tranquility, common defense, general welfare and the blessings of liberty for ourselves and the generations to come :)In this group you can:--> Participate in free live trainings where I teach my content on improvised comedy applications for confrontation, reconciliation and internal depolarization.--> Practice talking about important stuff in a non echo chamber--> Get insight and support on how to handle contentious relationships in your lifeThanks for being here!
