Andrea also served as Propel's Executive Director focused on systematizing a more seamless transition from K-12 to career, setting the overall vision for MA & RI while maintaining relationships with government, industry, and education leaders. Prior to joining Propel, Andrea served as Mass Insight's Managing Director where she oversaw Mi's national school improvement division and led the development of the organization's theory of action for improving schools and the redesign of the division's core services. Andrea oversaw consulting engagements in 20+ cities nationally partnering with state, district, school, and community stakeholders to understand local context, secure necessary conditions for student success, and design improved academic systems. She also led Mi's diversity, equity, and inclusion work. Andrea was also a national site advisor with TNTP leading the design and implementation of educator effectiveness systems nationally. Andrea also managed TNTP’s new teacher training program with the Chicago Public Schools. She began her career as a bilingual teacher in Austin, Texas. Andrea is an of alumna of the Pahara Fellowship, Latinos for Education’s Aspiring Leaders, and Board fellowships, and Education Pioneers. Originally from Bolivia, Andrea received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame. Andrea currently serves on the board of The Boston School's Fund, an organization focused on advancing educational equity in Boston by increasing access to high-quality schools.
