I have a strong experience in software analysis and design using both formal and informal methods. I have more than 20 years of practice in applying/tailoring/teaching the object-oriented technology in both academia and industrial projects. In the last years, I have also combined together traditional and agile techniques, helping companies to adapt their approach to software development in a wide range of business fields.As an independent consultant, I provide coaching, mentoring, on-the-job training. My main fields of interests are (not in a particular order): object-oriented development, software architectures, design for testability, UML, software testing, collaborative methods for software requirements modeling, technical debt analysis and control.As a technical author, I was a columnist for the magazine “Computer Programming” since 1999. For the period 2003 - 2008 I was the editor in chief of the column "Object-Oriented Design".As a research fellow, I was actively involved in the following main areas:- software engineering, concerning in particular the automatic validation and verification of UML models;- distributed software architectures, especially concerning Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) approaches;- semantic digital libraries, knowledge representation, information filtering and retrieval, Web 2.0, and semantic Web.Specializzazioni: Helping software teams to bridge the gap between analysis and design using models.
