My versatile performance palette ranges from traditional dances of the Middle East & India to technologically savvy multimedia performance art. Multidisciplinary collaborations include those with Gen Ken Montgomery (MoMA PS1 VW Dome); with Amy Greenfield (New York's Symphony Space); with R.A. Fish (Rhode Island Symphony Orchestra); with Crash Course in Science (tours throughout Europe & the US).My choreography has been presented at venues ranging from NYC's Town Hall to burlesque reviews in nightclubs. In 1999 I created my performance persona the Enchantress of Bioluminosity to present innovative, light imbued improvisations & choreography. In 2010 I expanded my vision to include the Sparks in the Dark when presenting my luminescent choreography in theatrical settings.The Dancing Rubies, my ensemble of Middle Eastern dancers, have performed at New York City cultural events since 1999.I have presented weekly instruction in Middle Eastern and Indian dance styles and culture since 1993, teaching beginner to professional level dancers at Bellydance America, Dance Forum-NY, Empire Dance, Fashion Institute of Technology, Greenhouse Holistic, Musical Theatre Works, Peridance, Anahid Sofian Dance Studio, Southbridge, United Federation of Teachers-Retired Teachers Chapter, & You Should Be Dancing.During the pandemic, I continued to teach dance, yoga & meditation on line, reaching more students than ever before thanks to technology.
