The San Francisco Wholesale Product Market (SFWPM) is one of the largest wholesale markets in the country that provides food infrastructure and services to 30+ businesses that store, aggregate, and distribute fresh produce in the Bay Area.As Program Manager, I developed the strategy for building SFWPM’s work beyond day-to-day infrastructure operations in order to better serve regional farmers, customers of the market, and the broader food community. This included: - Developing project plans, budgets, timelines, goals, and evaluation metrics for projects that fit with the strategy- Being responsible for relationship management of key partners and funders - Driving the largest market research undertaken by SFWPM by surveying and interviewing key stakeholders to inform a multi-year, multi-million dollar reinvestment project

Economic Consultant, Oct 2014 - presentGraduate Student Researcher, Jan 2014 - Sept Led the economic modeling and analyses to determine the impact of rice subsidy policies for the Delta Rice Project, UC Davis project studying the feasibility of rice-based cropping systems in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta. Simulated farmer decisions through the use of the Delta Agricultural Production (DAP) model, an agricultural optimization model that utilizes Constant Elasticity of Substitution production functions and Positive Mathematical Programming concepts.Improved model results by integrating regional agricultural data (carbon content of soils, weather patterns, and crop production costs) into the DAP model and by conducting deep customer research.

Led the design and execution of research initiatives and oversaw analysis of large datasets related to foundation performance. Supervised research analysts on projects and, more broadly, supported their professional development. Authored a number of reports and blog posts on issues related to foundation effectiveness. Acted as an external representative of CEP at various regional and national associations’ conferences, as well as presented research at several conferences. Played a major role as an internal representative of the research team: led data analyses to support and improve other areas of CEP’s work, consulted by others within organization on data quality issues, and trained new analysts in quantitative skills.

Oversaw survey administration efforts including on-line survey programming, managing survey contact lists, and data cleaning. Conducted rigorous quantitative analyses on large-scale comparative datasets on different aspects of foundation effectiveness.

Researched emerging consumer and business-to-business perceptions with objectives to identify customer trends and create solutions that deliver tangible business results. Served as the primary analyst for grocery retail project team with the intent to re-architect the marketing strategies of one of the country’s largest retailers. Managed all data collection and processing, interpreted data and statistical models, and developed reports and presentations that highlighted critical findings.

Internship covered a wide range of nonprofit business activities in areas such as Administration, Public Relations, Development, and Fundraising. Assisted in organization and management of GV’s educational-leadership program, acted as point of contact for the program, recruited and coordinated all other interns, developed marketing materials for quarterly fundraising event, and cultivated important relationships with members of giving foundations.
