With a career spanning more than 25 years, she has extensive experience in the chemical industry. With a degree in Chemical Engineering from the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP), a master's degree in Business Administration from the Getúlio Vargas Foundation, and an Executive MBA from the Kellogg School of Management, Andrea joined Oxiteno in 1994 as a trainee. She subsequently worked as a market manager responsible for several segments, such as Home and Personal Care and Coatings. She was a global marketing manager for three years and has been on the company's board since 2010. In this position, is responsible for leading a team of 180 people in commercial operations worldwide.In 2016, she served as Oxiteno’s general manager at its new US plant, and since 2017 has been Chief Marketing & Innovation Officer, leading the establishment of the company’s Innovation Area.She is also currently responsible for long-term marketing and R&D strategy with respect to the company’s leading markets and products, in addition to strategic raw materials, regulatory affairs, and institutional communications at a global level. She manages 8 direct reports and 210 people.Andrea Soares became a Board Director of ANPEI Brazil, the National Association for Research and Development at Innovative Companies, for the 2020-2022 term. This event leverages Oxiteno's participation in the innovation ecosystem and also contributes to the evolution of the sector as a whole. Through an environment with collaboration and exchange of experience among a variety of companies, this important Brazilian association facilitates updates in key areas and enables the articulation of policies to encourage innovation.
