The topics covered in the lectures are related to the design of an axial compressor.Furthermore, the course deals with the theory of the Computational Fluid Dynamic, the meshing techniques, the implementation of a CFD analysis and, finally the implementation of an optimization loop for an engineering analysis is presented.

The research is involved in a project called: "Ottimizzazione progettuale di dispositivi fluidici a jet sintetico mediante tecniche di fluidodinamica computazionale (CFD) non stazionaria".Consultancy for the computational fluid dynamic analyses: the topic covers the turbomachinery, external aerodynamic, wind turbines, combustion, aeroacustic and optimization with in-house algorithms.Teaching activity for the university courses of the master degree in Mechanical Engineering: Progetto di Macchine (years 2016-17 and 2017-18) and Metodi Avanzati per l’Ottimizzazione delle Macchine a Fluido (year 2017-18) . The objective of my PhD research is the optimization of machine design (both structural and aerodynamic) in an open source environment, using evolutive algorithms. During the period, I cooperated on a project for 3 months in the Aerospace Department at the Delft University of Technology, titled "Vertical Axis Wind Turbine Optimization".Teaching activity for the university courses of the master degree in Mechanical Engineering: Progetto di Macchine (years 2015-16 and 2016-17) and Metodi Avanzati per l’Ottimizzazione delle Macchine a Fluido (year 2016-17) .
