As a Science Curriculum Specialist, I serve as an education and science curriculum expert for Democracy Prep Public Schools. I write and produce content for DPPS' middle school and high school science classes. I work closely with school leaders and teachers to support science education. Democracy Prep aims to prepare all students for college success and authentic civic engagement. My included responsibilities as a curriculum advisor are to:• Develop, organize, and refine the Science curriculum and assessments for campuses across New York, New Jersey, Washington, D.C., Nevada, and Louisiana.• Develop and implement curriculum aligned with Common Core standards, student and teacher performance objectives, curriculum standards, and proficiencies in various subjects.• Develop and produce lessons that have an anchoring and investigative phenomena-based approach• Develop and evaluate internal assessments aligned to NYS exams and PARCC.• Formulate, plan, and implement the (virtual and in-person) professional development program for instructional staff.• Coach science teachers to provide rigorous instruction in a positive learning environment• Manage 2 curriculum advisors to maintain and build middle school and chemistry curriculum • Use appropriate data measures to assess the results of programs and address areas in need of improvement.

I taught grades 9-12 Earth Science, Health, Environmental Art. I performed curriculum development, data analysis of students work, created an inclusive classroom for students with special needs and English language learners. I led a geology lesson in Central Park. I raised over $4000 through Donorschoose.org to lead a 3 day camping trip of 50 students.
