I started to work in "Elettromeccanica Parizzi" (1982) in Bresso (Milano) which later entered into partnership with Fiat Ferroviaria.I developed simulation models in Fortran language for:· anti-skid system (WUPAR 83)· an Expert System demonstrator for analysis of train board data for the Milan Metro line· traction drive control (Diesel electric D145 for FS, Milan Metro 2 and the second generation of Pendolino Electrical Multiple Unit). Since 1996 I introduced Matlab simulation environment and became in charge of developing a new generation of simulation models for internal users: · programs for motors and converters power losses estimation· general purpose Matlab Library for TCMS application, including existing C code· automatic Code Generation · control of traction and auxiliary converters. I collaborated to some technical articles published on EPE, RAILTECH, AEI, Ingegneria Ferroviaria (with Prof. Renato Manigrasso and Gabrio Superti Furga of the Politechnic of Milan.In 2001 Fiat Ferroviaria was absorbed by Alstom Transport.I became member of "CCN Traction Control" and "CCN Traction System Engineering" contributing to develop new simulation tools. In 2003 I was appointed Senior Expert in Traction Control by the World Class Engineering Alstom committee. In November 2008 I was appointed Research Manager for Sesto San Giovanni site.At present I am technical administrator for "Matlab-Simulink" environment and for CITHEL tool (design of a traction chain in railways applications).I operate as a reference for the team of traction drives control and for the tender team in Sesto.I am in charge for "compatibility case" with the signalling system (track circuits). I am cooperating with some Italian Labs (Milano and Bologna).Specialties: Development of simulation models for traction drive controland evaluation of line current harmonics to analyse the compatibility case with the signalling system
