About Andrea Giusti

My research activity focuses on the development of advanced numerical tools for the prediction of extreme events and dynamic behaviour of turbulent multi-phase flows, such as local and global extinction, thermoacoustic oscillations, indirect noise. The ultimate goal of my research is to develop new technologies to reduce the environmental impact of aviation. Simulation of spray primary breakup, nanofuels and particle-laden flows in micro-channels are other relevant topics of my current research.Reviewer activity for some of the most important Journals in combustion and gas-turbine applications: Combustion and Flame; Proceedings of the Combustion Institute; Flow Turbulence and Combustion, Combustion Theory and Modelling, Journal of Engineering for Gas Turbines and Power, Journal of Propulsion and Power (to name a few).
