As a proud member of the Financial Services & Real Estate Team, I focus my practice on the banking industry. I help my clients identify, negotiate and resolve complicated legal and practical issues by finding strategies to achieve their business goals while balancing the competing forces of risk management, loss mitigation and marketplace trends. I always maintain a focus on my clients’ business goals while ensuring that their legal interests are protected. My favorite part of the day is answering the call of a client who wants to “run something past” me or “kick the tires” on an idea.I co-Chair the Firm's Financial Services Industry Service Group ("FRE ISG"), which is a multi-departmental, multi-regional “task force” dedicated to enhancing the quality and sophistication of services provided to the Firm’s financial services industry clients. As a trusted advisor to many financial institutions, I consider every bank employee my client – from in-house counsel to credit officers, risk managers, relationship managers, administrative officers, and others. I regularly offer advice, consultations and training sessions on topics such as effective loan documentation and strategies for achieving cross-collateralization and cross-default in loan documents (as well as common pitfalls with form-based documentation systems and work-arounds), due diligence concepts such as title, survey and corporate authority (including strategies and considerations for negotiating and waiving certain due diligence requirements), and secured lending basics, to name a few.I have experience handling a variety of financing arrangements including commercial real estate/development/construction loans, C&I loans, factor-financing, equipment financing, CMBS and securitized loan transactions, USDA guaranteed loans, SBA loans, conservation easements and tax credit transactions, as well as the Commonwealth Tourism Development Financing Program (TDFP).I am passionate about diversity, equity and inclusion, especially as it relates to women. I serve as the Chair of the Firm's Women's Initiative Network ("WIN"), which is our internal women's affinity group. The mission of WIN is to provide resources and support to our women attorneys to increase hiring, promotion and retention of women.
