About Andrea Hendel

I have been a licensed mental health professional since 2003 and utilize an integrated whole person approach to developing, managing and providing mental health services. I'm in private practice specializing in the treatment of trauma and First Responders. I provide mental health POST training for law enforcement and provide wellness program services to Minnesota police departments and sheriff's offices. I have been an independent clinician working in a private practice setting while holding leadership positions in a variety of Children's Mental Health organizations over the past 20 years. In those roles I was able to establish valuable trauma-centered healing practices that were cultivated by all staff under my supervision. I created optimal therapeutic environments where services were provided in 24-hour residential programs and intensive outpatient programs. Interprofessional collaboration and integrated care have been a major facet of the programs I developed.I have passion in working with people who have experienced trauma and loss in their lives and have strength in connecting with clients to help them believe in their ability facilitate personal change. As a leader, I have the ability to encourage and develop professionals and organizations and to foster action toward personal, professional and company goals. I approach new situations with curiosity and openness and operate both as a leader and in my personal life to pull from my strengths and the strengths of others to be solution-focused.I am passionate about Marriage and Family therapy and serve on the Minnesota Board of Marriage and Family Therapy. I believe that companies and departments are much like the systems of a family and that all parties have value and all need nurturing to develop the best versions of themselves.
