Andrea (Drea) Kaiser is a notable force in her industry with over thirty years of experience in marketing, tourism, communication, and hospitality. She is a known leader and educator in marketing, business management, sustainability, and public relations and taught at the Canadian Food and Wine Institute, for over a decade.Andrea is also very active in her community serving as chairperson of the marketing cooperative Wineries of Niagara-on-the-Lake and also as an Executive Board Member of Ontario Craft Wineries and Board Member of Tourism Niagara-on-the-Lake. She currently chairs Ontario’s Sustainable Winemaking Certification program and continues to contribute to the betterment of the industry.Andrea has also held key positions in local government and currently serves as Niagara Regional Councillor for the community of Niagara-on-the-Lake focusing on policy development and community engagement. She is also passionate about Niagara’s local wine and food culture and was most fortunate to have had a front row seat to the re-birth of a cottage wine industry and witnessed it grow to become a global competitor. Her roots in Niagara led to her to a lifelong career in wine which has come full circle with the launch of her own personal wine brand in memory of her father, iconic winemaker Karl J. Kaiserwho co-founder of Inniskillin Wines.Drea’s Wine Co. has taken the wine world by storm receiving International Critical Acclaim since their release in 2019 including her Sauvignon Blanc being marked as distinguished by renowned wine writer Jancis Robinson, her Rosato being named as one of the 'top 31 Canadian Rosés to try' by Decanter Magazine and her Dornfelder being listed on one of Canada’s first Michelin Star Restaurants. Her wines are regularly recognized at International Wine Competitions and served around the world including Canadian Embassies in New York City, Washington D.C. and the U.K.Her wine studies included sommelier training and travels abroad to wine regions like Napa, Bordeaux, Sancerre, Friuli, the Douro Valley and Okanagan. She recently graduated from the Wine Business Executive Program at Davis University in California and also completed Stanford University The Business of Wine: Strategies, Challenges, and Trends with Dr. Liz Thach who writes and regularly contributes to publications like Forbes and Wine Spectator Magazine. Andrea continues to learn and expand her horizons at any opportunity and when time permits she loves to write and has published articles about what else, but local food and wine.
