As a scientist with over 17 years of groundbreaking research in psychology, health behavior, and reproductive health, I am dedicated to transforming evidence into action. My work in translational science includes innovative projects such as implementing Pharmacy Vending Machines at Purdue University to address healthcare product access issues, expanding free tampon and pad access in community spaces to combat period poverty, and updating standard care procedures in sexual and reproductive health based on thorough needs assessments. These initiatives exemplify my commitment to using empirical evidence to create practical solutions that enhance health outcomes.I hold a PhD from Texas A&M University, an MS from the University of North Texas, and a BA from Purdue University. My interdisciplinary training continued with a postdoctoral fellowship at the Center for Interdisciplinary Research in Women's Health, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, at the University of Texas Medical Branch. My career has involved directing and managing large interdisciplinary teams, mentoring colleagues and trainees—especially the next generation of women leaders—and building partnerships with communities, corporations, and stakeholders. I am also proficient in various tools and platforms essential for research and collaboration, and I have a proven track record in grant writing and securing research funding.As the Senior Director of Applied Research and Evaluation at March of Dimes, I direct the Perinatal Data Center and oversee the Evaluation Team, managing both direct and indirect reports. I lead efforts to secure national, state, and local datasets, generate annual reports, and create evidence-based content for diverse platforms. Additionally, I spearhead innovative research projects, secure external funding, and represent the March of Dimes in research-related matters.My work is well-cited and has a far-reaching impact, influencing programs, policies, and clinical care guidelines. My career is dedicated to bridging research and practice, and I am enthusiastic about continuing to drive impactful change in the health sector.
