- Inagural recipient of the Daniel Urban Kiley Teaching Fellowship (2011-2012)- Full-time lecturer and member of core teaching team; administrative duties include serving on the Admissions Committee, coordinating and presenting in exhibits and symposia, and participating in pinups and semester reviews for core and option studios.- Teaches required core studio and representation courses along with option studios and elective seminars. - Research integrates landscape, infrastructure, and urbanism, with a focus on advanced digital media practices.

Founded in 2009, Code for America (CfA) is a national nonprofit that partners with local governments and citizens to foster civic innovation. By working to reinvigorate civic participation, accelerate the civic startup marketplace, facilitate collaboration between government leaders, and build new tools that enhance and strengthen communities, CfA is helping governments solve old problems in new ways. CfA is working towards a government by the people, for the people, that works in the 21st Century. The CfA Fellowship is a service-year program where civic-minded developers, designers, and product managers create small startup teams and partner with a local government for a year-long collaboration. Fellows and government staff work together to build apps, foster new approaches to problem solving throughout City Hall, and tackle issues the community is facing. In the past, teams have worked on issues including access to social services, alternatives to incarceration, and new avenues for public input.

Teaching a seminar entitled The Data-Driven City: Local Codes, Logistics Landscapes, and Civic Tech.

The Marie M. Bickham Chair at Louisiana State University’s Robert Reich School of Landscape Architecture is a visiting position awarded annually to a prominent academic or professional. Established in 2001 by Marie Bickham (1936–2012), the appointment seeks to incorporate innovative proposals for teaching or research that engage the student body and faculty at the school. Throughout the academic year, the Bickham Chair participates in the life of the School through lectures, demonstrations, and studio critiques, engaging with both students and faculty and taking advantage of the characteristics of the Mississippi Delta/Gulf Coast region to create a unique experience for all concerned.As Bickham Chair, Hansen will lecture on “Data and the Documentation of the Shifting Urban Landscape,” and she will attend final reviews in the fall and spring semesters. Hansen will also lead two workshops on advanced digital technologies—a pre-semester workshop, January 23–27, and a mid-semester workshop, March 6–14—and a symposium in the spring. The symposium, produced in collaboration with the Coastal Sustainability Studio, Urban Landscape Lab, and Media and Site Technologies Lab at LSU, will address the use of technology in documenting and designing for the shifting landscape, incorporating student work produced in the two workshops.

Visualizing Systems investigates how we map data to understand complex networks. The website serves as a collection of visualizations of global systems that range from watersheds and greenbelts to distribution chains and social networks. Visualizing Systems will also be published by Princeton Architectural Press in 2014.

Composite Landscapes examines one of the twentieth century’s dominant techniques for representing landscape architecture: the montage view. Composite Landscapes gathers seminal examples of photomontage and collage drawings by a dozen of the world’s leading landscape architects. The first exhibition of its kind in North America, Composite Landscapes revisits the origins, aspirations, and exhaustion of montage and collage as media of landscape representation. The drawings gathered for the exhibit shed light on the ubiquity and redundancy of many contemporary collage practices. With the global proliferation of photoshop views, contemporary practices of landscape representation verge on exhaustion, both critical and cultural. By reexamining the analog, cut and paste construction of post-modern landscape views, Composite Landscapes promises to critically reanimate contemporary discussions of digital media and landscape drawing.

- Interior and exterior design and modeling on projects in and around Manhattan. - Extensive Rhino modeling and CAD construction drawing work and showroom selection of material palettes. - Researched and co-wrote monograph and articles with principal Ali Tayar. - Work featured in exhibit and promotional materials in association with Parallel Design's becoming a finalist for the 2009 Cooper Hewitt National Design Award.

- Designed master plans, architecture, and landscape for mixed-use projects in the western US & China. - Led the Urban Design Group's graphic design efforts for books, presentations, and competitions. - Independently wrote RFP & RFQ proposals; General, Master, and Specific plans; and design guidelines, as well as other design and planning documents. - Developed analog and digital concept and design development drawings. - Supervised junior designers and acted as assistant project manager in charge of staffing, project budgets and schedules, and marketing.- Coordinated and oversaw community presentations and public participation meetings for large transit-oriented developments along the Los Angeles River and other high-profile sites throughout California.

- Tested innovative 3D & 4D design software and presented results to senior executives. - Created 4D ride and construction animations for the Space Mountain and Expedition Everest rides. - Proposed company-wide LEED benchmarks and performed energy analysis modeling and building re-use studies for the Disney Hotel group. - Executed feasibility and land-use studies and designed illustrated plans, parcel maps, and presentation graphics for theme parks worldwide as part of the Master Planning group.
