About Andrea Pope

My work lives at the intersection between teaching, learning, and assessment. With a background in higher education assessment, higher education student affairs, and K-12 efficacy research, I have dedicated my career to helping educators build, evaluate, and improve curricular and co-curricular interventions.Much of my research and applied work has focused on supporting educators in 1) the development of evidence-informed educational interventions and 2) the use of student data and assessment results for learning improvement. I have presented on these and other assessment topics at several regional and national conferences, and given a number of workshops and keynotes to aid institutions in building cultures of data use and holistic student support.About Me:My degrees are in Educational Assessment and Measurement (Ph.D.) and College Student Personnel Administration (M.Ed.). My higher education work experience includes serving as an Academic Program Assessment Consultant, a Student Affairs Assessment Consultant, a Residence Hall Director, a Career and Academic Advisor, and working in multicultural student services at James Madison University. I have also worked as a research scientist at Curriculum Associates, a K-12 education technology company, where I evaluated the efficacy of curricular interventions. Today, I work at DIA Higher Education Collaborators, where I get to help institutions use data to develop strategies to promote holistic student success. When not working, you can find me out on the dance floor or reading books on health and well-being!
