Broadcast Negotiator for OptimediaOverview: Negotiates and purchases television and radio media for all accounts within an assigned group of markets. With increased responsibility, may take on small markets under the supervision of Media Planner/Buyer.Responsibilities:-Work with Buyer/Planner on client marketing information for planning. Help write POVs and research circulation, audience information, and product usage information, CPP/spending history to determine whether appropriate choice for use.-Maintain stewardship of reports including competitive reports software to assess media schedules of competitors, interpret data and draw conclusions.-Prepare flowcharts and budgets for media plan using Excel, PowerPoint, and planning-specific software.-Prepare and issue buying specs and guidelines to buyers including GRP goals and budgets for us in negotiations.-Issue and maintain avail input, transmit original or revised station orders and avail requests, maintain receipts of annual contracts, review contracts to verify accuracy of dollars spent and work with station reps to negotiate make-goods.-Handle traffic responsibilities for client.

In charge of Advertising for the IU Student Foundation and the Little 500. Worked with people of the media- print, radio and television media to effectively advertise for the IU Student Foundation and the Little 500. Handled budget of $15,000 set for IU Student Foundation advertising, and an overall Marketing budget of $40,000. Negotiated deals and contracts with companies for various advertising. Brainstormed new ways to advertise in the city of Bloomington, IN. Led a seven-member team in advertising for the IU Student Foundation and the Little 500.

Assisted anchors, reporters, producers, and photographers while working as full-time reporting intern at the leading news station in Indiana. Wrote VOs and VOSOTs by teaming with photojournalists on stories for newscasts. Shot stand-ups with reporters and edited with the equipment provided. Assisted reporters during live shots. • Did interviews when reporters were not available (ie. Curator of Indianapolis Art Museum and women prisoners).

Anchored weekly newscasts on IUSTV, a campus television station. Reported on campus-based stories two times a month. Did in-studio interviews. Wrote VOs for newscast weekly.

Assisted in marketing efforts for the IU Student Foundation and Little 500.

Reported on city-state and business beat for Indiana University’s campus newspaper. Interviewed people for stories. Wrote articles based on interviews and information gathered.
