I worked in the wafer fab as an etch engineer. The primary focus was on via, contact and passivation etch, but sustained all areas including poly gate and metal etch. Ran DOE to optimize process time and viewed cross section SEM results to define tool recipes. The data collection involved use of analysis tools such as JMP and Taguchi to define experiments. Worked with suppliers such as Applied Materials, Lam Research Corp, and Tegal to bring in new tools and retrofit production tools. Utlilized CCD optical emissions spectroscopy camera tools to detect end of etch process step.
