Associate Managing Editor
CurrentDue to onboarding a new Editor-in-Chief, launching a new journal, and initiating process improvements, promoted from Editorial Manager to Associate Managing Editor within 4 years of hiring. In addition to keeping the responsibilities of the Editorial Manager, this role now requires:• Session development: Work closely with the Editor-in-Chief and other STS Journals stakeholders to create and design the “Annals Academy” session at the STS Annual Meeting. This involves strategizing it as a session or potentially opting for a new format, working with the STS Education department in its inclusion in the annual meeting program.• Financials/budgeting: Assist the Managing Editor in preparing and completing the annual budget for STS Journals.• Reviewer Reward Program: Manage the development of the new Reviewer Reward Program to gift the journals’ top performing peer reviewers. Design and implement criteria for awardee selection and work across departments to establish appropriate compensation option(s), aligned with the allocated fiscal year budget.
