Concerto Classics is an independent record label, operating since the 80s, specialised in musical productions of excellent sound quality, accompanied by prestigious and cherished artwork. The work of the label focuses mainly on the musicians and music of Italy. From baroque repertoire through to the particularly interesting Neapolitan eighteenth century, our catalogue spans up until the twentieth century with the addition of some works from our time.The principle objective of Concerto Classics since the beginning, has been the development of Italian composers, instruments and performers. We intend to bring together the spirit and heritage of all nations: an ideal Italy. Using much Italian repertoire and many Italian artists but remaining open to European tradition, we continue on a prolific cultural exchange which connects our peninsula to the rest of great European civilization throughout the centuries.Our CDs contain many well known compositions, but above all we strive to discover new repertoire which may have been completely forgotten, often presented as world premieres. Amongst our most ambitious productions we have: the complete organ works by Bach played by Alessio Corti (released in 2000 for his 250th anniversary); the complete harpsichord sonatas of Giovanni Benedetto Platti; CDs dedicated to the mysterious figure, Andrea Luchesi, possibly Beethoven’s ‘true’ teacher; and a box set dedicated to Reynaldo Hahn, with many unpublished works and a DVD introducing the composer.
