Although I love HR, I would never describe myself as just a “people-person.” It is so much more than that. I have a natural curiosity about people that stems from my days studying psychology – why do people do the things they do; what motivates them?Working in Human Resources in a range of organizations, from small non-profits to Fortune 500 companies, I have cultivated a passion for exploring people and their behavior in an office setting. My positions in HR have allowed me to apply my passion and expertise to situations that have a significant impact on the organization and on individuals.I specialize in employee relations and employee management. I am serious about the work I do and take pride in my ability to be fair, consistent, and meet the needs of each individual. During my tenure, I have helped managers learn to be more effective team leads, conducted investigations into employee behavior, piloted and helped establish a new regional HR model in the US.Earlier in my career, I strategically chose broad HR roles to develop a strong foundation in the practice. Over the course of my career, I have demonstrated my ability to navigate difficult and ambiguous situations by balancing the tension between advocating for and empowering the employee while mitigating risk to the organization. I rely not only on my psychology background, but also my volunteer training as a crisis hotline operator to diffuse tense discussions. Analytical in nature, my brain is always running — a skill I constantly utilize in my job to streamline HR processes, creatively solve critical and complex employee issues, and manage multiple projects in fast paced environments.
