    I was the head of strategic planning for Boral's largest division, the Construction Materials division. In this role, I advised and supported the Divisional Managing Director, developed 5 year strategic plans, analysed strategic issues, allocated capital, identified and modelled potential acquisitions and ran a number of specific projects.During this period, the division strengthened its position in growth markets, reduced its asset base and cost position in shrinking markets and improved pricing management. The division successfully navigated through the Global Financial Crisis, repositioning its hydrocarbon hedge book ahead of the crash in oil prices and increasing the focus on cash generation and cost management. The division significantly grew production, revenue and profits over this period.I was also responsible for the Environmental function and managed the development of an Environmental Management System, developed measurement systems to support sustainability reporting and compliance reporting for EEO and NGERS, and developed the annual Environmental Strategic Plan that was presented to the board.
