I currently work as an IT-technician at Mönsterås Kommun while finishing my master thesis. I have been working with everything from customer support and user administration, to computer installation and deployment. I have also been involved in a large scale system migration affecting over 2000 user and to develop a tool for system integration, synchronization and automation.I think people who know me would say I have two strong passions, the first of which is computers and technology, especially robotics. As a teenager I even considered myself relative well-versed in the arts of computers and it was not until I actually started studying computer science at that I realized how little I knew. This made me more eager to learn and yet even after 4 years still I feel as though I barely scratched the surface.Learning is about discovery and I love to dive deep into an interesting topic. The joy is even greater when I get to apply my knowledge to solve a problem, to create a new and better solution or improve upon an already existing one. Especially when working in teams where you can share your ideas and get feedback while you work together towards a common goal.My second passion is for the language and culture of Japan. What started out as a hobby in turned out into a passion when I got my first chance to come to Japan at the age of 18 and stay in a host family for 2 weeks. I found the merger between the traditional and hyper modern aspects of society to be truly fascinating and inspiring, that I could not wait to return.The next opportunity arose when some friends and I decided to study Japanese in Tokyo for a full year. I learned so many things and I got to meet so many new people, both Japanese and people from other countries, some of which remain my friends to this day. The experience I had was one of the best and most important of my life, one I will never forget.
