At the beginning of my professional career in the neighbourhood of the Berlin Wall I was lucky to get an excellent education in the most beautiful city in the world – St. Petersburg (formerly Leningrad). Based on the extensive knowledge gained by my studies, I founded Teleconnect GmbH in Dresden/Germany in the early nineties and led it as its managing director from then on. All my professional life I worked in the area of wired communications. For more than twenty years Teleconnect was extremely successful with for R&D outsourcing projects for a big number of customers from the telecommunications industry in the area of PDH, SDH, ATM, xDSL.... I started with glass optical fibers for WAN, later on moved to copper for access networks (xDSL) and polymer optical fibers for home networks. Today I see a new challenge: based on the existing knowledge and well-developed partner networks I will continue working on a migration strategy for home networks from „copper“ to „light“ , combined with data security and privacy.
