About me...My name is Andreas Meier-Hedde and I am a 45 year old engineer. I studied Industrial Management and Engineering (Dipl.-Ing. oec.) in Hamburg / Germany with major in process engineering, particle technology and operational logistics.My working career started 2005 in north of Germany at the steel work (ArcelorMittal) in Bremen. After these learning years, my next career step was to change side from plant operation to plant (technology-) supplier. Outotec, and subsequently Metso:Outotec offers a wide range of different technologies, such as mining equipment, alumina- and sulphur plants and of course different ferrous technologies. Since 2015 I am working in the world of "ferrous industrial plants" as a Product Manager. Amongst other things, I am in charge of the product management organisation for the Travelling Grate Sintering Technology. This includes the product development, -design and -improvement processes as well as the IPR- and portfolio management. Typical capacities of these industrial plants are between 1 to 6 million tons of product a year.This job has a lot to do with intercultural communication, mental flexibility, taking responsibility and of course travelling on company business. In the last years I became an expert in iron ore pelletizing- and sintering technology. Recently, we were able to successfully push several valuable product innovations into the market, such as an emission reducing gas recirculation system or a very efficient sealing concept for the cooler equipment.Away from work, I am a husband, a father to a son and twin daughters, a guitar learner, a Basketball fan, an old-fashioned book reader, a fountain pen lover, a tech nerd and a reliable person.Andreas Meier-Hedde
