I am responsible for all environmental concerns on board. This includes the monitoring ships waste generation and to ensure the implementation of the highest possible standard for handling and recycling. A greater part of the position includes to find new ways to minimize our impact of the environmental areas we are visiting. Another part includes assisting auditors, both internal and external, and governmental officials. I am also responsible for the training of crew members in environmental awareness.

As my position comes under the management level category, my job is not only limited to carry out my own duties but also to look after the entire operation of the engine room and other technical aspects of the ship.I provides utmost assistance to the Chief engineer for running the ship efficiently.Moreover, I am also in-charge of all the other crew of the engine room.I ensure for their personnel safety and routine duties. I do also plan the overall maintenance of all the machinery present in the engine room of the ship.

I was responsible for supervision of the engine plant during watch duties and, within my area of responsibility, ensure that assigned maintenance activities are properly carried out as instructed by the First engineer.
