The Global Network for Popular Transportation (previously the Global Partnership for Informal Transportation) brings key actors together to change the narrative surrounding popular (a.k.a informal) transportation, highlight its role in providing millions of people with access to opportunities, and transform the way is approached by governments and decision makers around the world. We aim for popular transport to be recognized as an essential part of transport systems, and integrated into transport, urban, social, economic and climate policy and planning efforts.GNPT has brought together leaders and organizations such as WRI, VREF, UNDP and others, to transform popular transport around the world

As part of the Agile City Partners co-founding team, my role consisted in exploring potential partnerships, supporting and facilitating strategic planning, organizing and serving as panelist for webinars or other communication spaces on this topic, developing funding proposals, leading projects such as the Encyclopedia of Informal Transport in Central America, and providing technical support to a diversity of GNPT projects.

Public Health, through CISG (Interamerican Center for Global Health). - 2019 Bike Expo: agenda curatorship for the “learn” component of the Expo, to share experiences and good practices on mainstreaming cycling and promoting a cycling culture around the world. - lV World Low Carbon City Forum: agenda curatorship, logistics, planning and hosting the event, which included experts from 10 different countries covering topics such as communicating climate change, green infrastructure, walkability, innovation and technology for climate action, urban biodiversity, youth and climate change, psicology of climate change, amongst others. • Part of the consulting team developing a GEF Proposal for UNEP on Accelerating the Transition towards Electric Mobility in Public Transport (successfully funding and under implementation)• Lead in the development of an Encyclopedia of Informal Transportation for Central America and a Datathon on Informal Transportation, in partnership with the Global Partnership for Informal Transportation• Lead in the Baseline Data Collection for Integrated Urban Development and Transport Oriented Development indicators for 15 local governments in Costa Rica's Great Metropolitan Area

Agile City Partners is a consulting firm aiming to bring the agile mindset to the cities we serve. This means putting people first in their planning and design, designing spaces, services and urban systems that work, collaborating with different urban stakeholders, and effectively responding to change through innovation and co-creation.Our first initiative and main focus of our work right now is the Global Partnership for Informal Transportation, that we've launched along with New Cities and CoMotion.

Through the Center for Urban Sustainability, I was in charge of desigining and now facilitating a Masters level course on Urban Sustainability. This module touches on topics such as international frameworks and concepts related to urban sustainability, how urban design and planning can result in more sustainable or unsustainable cities, principles for designing sustainable and inclusive transport systems, links between urban sustainability, water and waste management in cities, the potential for sustainable construction for sustainable cities, the role of cities in the midst of the climate crisis, how to address inequality in cities, how to design policies and plans for urban sustainability, and how to understand different urban governance models for implementing policies, projects and plans in cities.

The SLOCAT Transport and Climate Change Global Status Report tells the global and regional stories ofwhere we are and where we need to get to urgently on climate action in the transport sector. Engaging awide community of world-class experts and organisations, it is a one-stop shop for the latest availabledata, targets and developments on transport demand, emissions, policies and measures – showing thatit is imperative to accelerate radical action for sustainable transport and climate in this time ofunprecedented global change.I am part of the Advisory Team convened by SLOCAT to support the overall conceptualisation andstrategic development of the Transport and Climate Change Global Status Report, composed of a diverse group of professionals covering a wide range of topics inextricably related to sustainable, low carbon transport (e.g. different transport modes, urban sustainability, renewables, health, development cooperation, etc.) from different geographies and fields of specialisation (public policy analysis, research and data analysis, partnerships, financing, etc.).

Project: Pricing of transport network companies (TNCs) for sustainability and social inclusionI worked with the IADB and UCL in conducting research about how app based collective transport services are working in LATAM, what their business models are, who they are serving, and what their social and environmental impacts or contributions are. This information will be used to develop a technical note to support governments and decision makers in the region to develop new and better regulation that can allow for innovation in the transport ecosystem while ensuring the wellbeing of users, drivers, operators and the overall urban environment.

Under the framework of a Policy Based Loan by IADB and AFD to the Government of Costa Rica, I was the focal point in charge of supporting the Climate Change Office of the Ministry of the Enviroment in coordinating with 10 different government institutions and providing follow up to a series of climate commitments linked to our National Decarbonization Plan's goals in three components in particular: Nature Based Solutions and Climate Smart Agriculture, Climate Action Management and Monitoring, and Efficient Electricity Use and E-Mobility

- Engage with global cities networks, multilateral agencies, NGO partners, countries and cities to develop, coordinate, and implement strategies, policy tools and partnerships to advance TNC's Build Healthy Cities program priorities, SDG 11, CBD goals and the New Urban Agenda.- Participate in Task Force 3 on Nature Based Urban Solutions as part of the Urban20 Mayors Summit (under the G20 Summit). Lead author drafting a white paper along with ICLEI titled "Towards transformative change: urban contributions to achieving the global biodiversity", providing key recommendations and case studies to strengthen cities' role in contributing to global biodiversity and sustainability agendas hand in hand with nature.(Position and Build Healthy Cities Program closed due to institutional adjustments in response to the COVID-19 crisis)

- Part of the office's mobility team, overseeing key projects and initiatives such as the Electric Passenger Train and Integrated Bus System.- Articulating multi-level efforts to develop urban planning tools and strategies based on Transport Oriented Development principles along main transport corridors with 15 local governments in the Metropolitan Area.- Supporting the transport authority and local governments in promoting active mobility and increasing cycling infrastructure and conectivity.- Lead a multi-stakeholder working group to coordinate and implement IDB funded road infrastructure and maintenance projects in 82 local governments. - Supporting local governments in the development of planning tools and strategies incorporating climate adaptation in Costa Rica's 20 most vulnerable municipalities.- Supporting ministries, urban planning, transport, local governments and environmental authorities in the development of grant proposals, MOUs, partnerships, etc to acquire funding and technical cooperation to advance key projects in Costa Rica's urban agenda.- Support in incorporating key sustainability elements such as climate, gender, social inclusion perspective into urban and transport projects.

- Leadership and administrative responsibilities: Strategic planning, grant-writing and identifying partnerships for project implementation, team management, report writing.- Representation in boards and committees such as San José Cómo Vamos (a citizen initiative to monitor urban quality of life indicators) and in 5C (citizen consultation platform for government climate policy), INTECO's Cycling Infrastructure Standards Committee.- Designing, coordinating and implementing projects and training in areas such as: waste management, distributed energy, sustainable urban mobility (including electric mobility) at the metropolitan, local and corporate scales, GHG measurement, reporting and mitigation for cities and communities, gender inclusion and diversity in cities, amongst others, commissioned by different Costa Rican ministries and local governments, supported and funded by international entities such as IDB, UNEP-DTU, UK Embassy and GIZ.- Event coordination, planning and implementation: Monthly open discussion sessions on issues related to Urban Sustainability (2016), Cities Week (2016) and Urban October (2017), the first edition of Expo Bici (2017) which sought to promote urban cycling. - Lecturer on subjects such as urban sustainability, sustainable cities, sustainable urban mobility, in different conferences, forums, seminars and university courses.
