Filament is a small Scotland-based product design consultancy focused on connected devices. Working with local and international clients Filament has both won awards and helped their clients do the same.At Filament I primarily acted as a design lead taking projects from idea to manufacturing through a human-centred design process. This involved a myriad of skills depending on the project and where it was in the process. From interviewing users and experts, synthesising research and running workshops to come up with solutions, to fine-tuning every corner of a product, prototyping and testing to make sure it is ready for manufacturing and for the real world.

- Conceptualized a modular furnishing system for micro dwellings that would fit a range of users and use cases.- Developed and demoed a VR experience to showcase the company’s micro dwellings and their furnishings.

I gathered data for and designed a detailed overview over the plant’s chemical processes that improved management’s understanding of the environmental impact the plant has. The work was done in preparation for renewal of the plants operating permit.

Part of a team designing and building a highly manoeuvrable blimp and its control systems. - Designed and 3d printed structural elements for our thrusters. They were capable of azimuth control and variable pitch, fastened on the very non-rigid surface of a balloon.- Developed and delivered multiple presentations of the project and our goals to large groups of people (100+).
