In brief, I am involved in:- Positioning of FBG Fibre Optic sensors in road pavements.- Experimental research of innovative road materials using Calcium Sulphate Anhydrous.- Experimental research of lightened materials for non-structural construction purposes based on Anhydrous Calcium Sulphate.- Modelling with Finite Element software.- Analysis of environmental impact indices.In more detail:With the thesis work, I developed a method for the placement of FBG Fibre Optic sensors in the road pavement by embedding it in a special bituminous mastic, performing laboratory and field tests, and subsequent FEM modeling with Ansys21R software. I am currently involved in the research and testing of innovative engineering solutions using Calcium Sulphate Anhydrous, a by-product of the chemical processing of hydrofluoric acid. The two main topics concern the field of road and construction technology, arguing with the study of innovative cement mixes in which ACS partially replaces Portland Cement, combining the results of experimental tests in the laboratory and in situ with the analysis using the Finite Element Method, taking care of the Life Cycle Assessment, and finally the experimentation of innovative materials for non-structural use in construction, evaluating and testing various mix designs to achieve certain mechanical strengths and technical requirements such as fire resistance, thermal-acoustic insulation capacity and lightness.
