Ell Paraeducator
As an English Language Learner (ELL) paraeducator, I had the opportunity to teach and support newcomer students in acquiring English language skills necessary to thrive academically. My role encompassed a comprehensive approach to language education, focusing on speaking, writing, reading, and listening skills.During the challenging period of the Covid-19 pandemic, I leveraged my IT skills to create and manage our Canvas website. This platform became essential for remote learning, where I uploaded instructional materials, assignments, and set up Zoom links for virtual classes. This enabled students to continue their language learning seamlessly from home. Additionally, I gathered and provided student information to my lead teacher, ensuring tailored support to help students attend and engage in class.Beyond the classroom, I played a crucial role as the school's official Spanish translator, facilitating clear communication between parents, students, and staff. I also assisted the speech pathologist with Spanish-speaking students and collaborated with office staff to organize documents and contact parents and students. My multifaceted role allowed me to make a significant impact on the students' educational journey and the overall functioning of the school community.
