Project Coordinator for a 12-week nutrition and gardening program for vulnerable and at-risk families. I supported the completion of literature searches related to the topic, project coordination, helping research assistants and program facilitators, collect, input, code and analyze data using qualitative data software tool, NVivo, took observational field notes, lead a debrief after each session, and used Adobe InDesign and Photoshop for graphic-arts related program and reporting material.

Research Assistant on a project related to post-secondary student self-care. For this project, I had the opportunity to delve deeper into the topic of self-care, help develop research interview questions, conduct qualitative interviews and complete theme analysis to analyze data.

- Assisted in the development of a volunteer engagement program within the OCYA, called ‘Friends of the Advocate’ - Assisted in the writing of a literature review related to program evaluation, and then compiled all small group literature reviews into an engaging magazine-style review - Created a logo for the ‘Friends of the Advocate’ program, reformatted files and volunteer documents in a creative and engaging way for future volunteers, and developed a Facebook and Instagram account for ‘Friends of the Advocate’

The Educational Partnership Foundation (TEPF) partners with six school districts in the Calgary and surrounding areas to provide learning and citizenship development opportunities. During my time with TEPF I expanded upon invaluable research skills and synthesized gained through school, serving to further strengthen the writing of grants and cyclically increase my knowledge base. I researched and compiled a priority list of grants to apply for locally, provincially, and nationally. I also created a visual impact pictorial annual report for TEPFs main sponsor.

After graduating high school I was very fortunate to have been given the opportunity to work at a before and after care in an elementary school where I worked as a child development assistant. It was my job to offer a broad range of activities to meet the needs and interests of children in kindergarten to grade 6, I had to the role of facilitator and caregiver as well as nurturer to the school care children. I also provided homework supervision, and planned and conducted social and recreational activities for the kids.
