Commercially conflicted comments under my posts will be deleted unless the conflict is disclosed ex-ante.Having served on the EU's Technical Expert Group for Sustainable Finance (2018-2020), where I co-invented ‘EU Climate Transition and EU Paris-Aligned Investing’ (EU Regulation 2020/1818) by aligning investment strategies across asset classes with the IPCC’s 1.5°C trajectory (with no or limited overshoot), I am currently serving on the EU's Platform for Sustainable Finance (2020-2022) as individual academic member and Head of the Data subgroup.More generally, I understand myself as a Financial Data Scientist working towards the vision of a conflict-free capitalism. While the vision is unlikely to be fully achievable, my view is that anyone can strive to make a regular contribution to reducing abusive conflicts of interests and thereby enhancing the fairness of our society and its financial system. Specifically, my research interests are as follows:• Financial Data Science (incl. Big Data, DeepData.ai, Augmented/Artificial Intelligence, Sustainable Investing, Scientific Alpha & Smart Beta)• Operational Risks & Intangible Assets (incl. all seven event types as defined by Basel II and the dynamic valuation of intangible assets)• Organizational Refinancing (incl. the degree to which high quality management of organizational tensions between quality, costs, time, flexibility, learning and corporate culture can enhance refinancing processes)• Scientific Process & Method (incl. the tensions between dichotomous and distributional reasoning, research relevance and complexity, and causality and predictability)• Societal Asset Owners (incl. the effectiveness their investor activism, engagement and voting behaviour as well as the Investment Innovation Benchmark [iib.io]) • Transparent Sustainable Development (incl. the divergence between disclosure and reporting as well as double bookkeeping of greenhouse gas emissions)If you are interested in my profile, please consider contacting me: maybe we can learn from each other.
