I am currently working as a King’s College London as a senior academic in professional education across UK government, military and civil service.

Within the framework of the UK MoD’s Defence Co-operation Agreement (DCA) with the State of Qatar, the Qatari Joint command and Staff College is a Qatari military academic establishment providing training and education to experienced advanced officers of the Qatar Armed Forces (QAF). The Gulf Security Centre will function as a regional centre of expertise on foreign and security policy providing consultancy founded on research excellence.

The group aims to promote the study of and raise awareness on the issue of Private Military and Security Companies. It promotes a multi-disciplinary approach to the study of PMSCs, including topics such as ethics/morality, defence policy, humanitarian intervention, multi-level governance, security governance, international humanitarian law, civil military relations, and security sector reform.The PMSRG maintains relations between government, industry and academia and comprises a rich pool of knowledge and expertise on many of the contemporary challenges for the private military and security industry. The PMSRG organizes the Annual Private Military and Security conference in corporation with RUSI comprising government actors, industry and academia. Furthermore, the PMSRG issues a monthly newsletter, which was designed to act as useful regular source of information for academic researchers in the field. In my research I was focusing on the possibility of using Private Military and Security Companies (PMSCs) for military humanitarian intervention, i.e. on actual military engagement of PMSCs on the ground. I am trying to legitimize the use of PMSCs for humanitarian intervention using the conceptual framework of Just War Theory, in particular jus in bello principles. In a comparsion with public sector humanitarian intervention in the 1990s I claimed that the private sector is equally suitable for military intervention for humanitarian purposes

Maintaining an extensive network of journalists, analysts and policy makers across the Middle East, I have been able to use both his access to first-hand information and analytical skills to provide strategic risk assessments and analysis for a range of Qatari governmental institutions. At the same time I write classified country reports, confidential witness reports and analyses for think tanks, commercial clients and governmental institutions around the world. My focus hereby has always been the MENA (Middle East & North Africa) region, which a particular focus on Syria, Iraq, Yemen and Libya.

Joint Services Command and Staff College (JSCSC) is a British military academic establishment providing training and education to experienced officers of the Royal Navy, Army, Royal Air Force, Ministry of Defence Civil Service, and serving officers of other states.Dr. Krieg was working for the UK Joint Services Command and Staff College with junior and intermediate level officers from the British Army and the Royal Air Force. While he was working with the Royal Air Force on addressing and overcoming contemporary strategic, operational and tactical obstacles to the use of air power in complex asymmetric environments, he supported intermediate rank officers of the British Army in developing their command and leadership skills.

PiCA is an organization intended to facilitate academic growth. While a broad objective, its potential for success grows when its raison d’être is more thoroughly understood. In sum, this project was born from three inter-connected realizations: one being that junior scholars crave exposure for their hard work and efforts, yet, whether due to time constraints, lack of resources, or the nature of their situations, have been unable to submit their work to print publications; the second being that communities of students, scholars, academics, and even the more general population all gain from the increased circulation of new ideas, concepts, and literature; the last is that junior scholars, whose ambitions are often aided by the increased circulation of their manuscripts, can derive great benefit from the review of their work by peers, experts, and future employers.

I was responsible for the creation and development of the medical recruitment department. I succeeded in building up a stock of medical staff from Central Europe on the one hand and in establishing as well as maintaining strong and reliable business relations with employers and agencies in both the UK and Scandinavia on the other. During my employment I used my obtained experience in medical recruitment and my personal skills to train employees responsible for recruitment in Eastern Europe.

Working for the European Centre for Customer Assistance Coordination of Daimler, Maastricht, the Netherlands. I continued working for Daimler on German speaking market in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Apart from regular breakdown-case handling as already outlined before, I particularly focused on working on international breakdown-cases with commercial vehicles all over Europe. Using my language skills I was required to organize recovery for broken down vehicles as well as identifying the payment scheme for the customer abroad. Complications with customers with a bad payment record pressured by the need to deliver the freight on time had to be dealt with in local language or conference calls with colleagues all over Europe.

Working for the European Centre for Customer Assistance Coordination of Daimler, Maastricht, the Netherlands. I commenced working for Daimler on the British and Irish market for breakdown-case handling of passenger cars as well as commercial vehicles. This job required me to identify the customer and attempt to give him immediate first-aid to get his vehicle moving again. In case help over the telephone was unsuccessful I located the vehicle and dispatched a towing service and assigned the nearest dealership to assist the customer.l
