I set up the Margate Bookie litfest in a single room in a disused warehouse in 2015. The Margate Bookie is a charity that encourages a love of reading through courses, retreats, book clubs and poetry slams. We now hold two festivals a year at five venues including the iconic Turner Contemporary gallery and Dreamland funfair.

I was voted Best Speaker at the internationally-renowned Financial Times Intro to the City Programme for six years running. I qualified as an ACA with PWC, worked in equity analysis and research for a number of banks, and was a course director at FT Knowledge.I’ve got a First in English Language and Linguistics from Leeds and a Master of Studies from Cambridge. I’m also graduate of the Faber & Faber Novel Writing Academy. My first book, The Devil’s Deal, was published by Financial Times/Prentice Hall and translated into nine languages including Chinese, Japanese and Korean.
