Blue Health Intelligence is a newly formed company focusing on delivering analytic products and services to the marketplace. I am accountable for operations, including analytic development of products and services, analytic consulting services and management of the IT enablement services.

Accountable for Value development for Blue Health Intelligence, the nation's largest integrated claims repository, for Blue Plans. Focus on customer management, professional services, product development, research and innovation.

As the Director of strategic initiatives at CVS Caremark, Andrea is responsible for defining new and innovative strategies that address the healthcare system, and identifying opportunities for CVS Caremark, clients and the end consumers. Andrea is well versed in all aspects of healthcare, and is methodologically grounded in research analytics. She is responsible for innovative input into strategic direction for the Caremark organization internally, as well as development and implementation of relationships with entities outside the Caremark organization, whether affiliations, collaborations, co-ventures, or otherwise.

Andrea led the Clinical Analytics and the Strategic Analytics Research and Development teams. The Clinical Analytics team focuses its efforts on developing clinical outcomes methodologies for disease management, specialty services and other PBM clinical programs. The Strategic Analytics R&D team creates sophisticated analytic models to help internal and external business constituents better understand factors that influence pharmacy and health management behavior. Using integrated claim data sources, the team performs strategic analyses that lead to actionable recommendations for total healthcare management supporting business development. These areas of research and development include analytic publications, severity indexing, predictive modeling and forecasting, outcomes assessment and program evaluation, behavioral modification research, benchmarking, risk stratification, benefit design studies, return on investment modeling, and other health care research studies.

Andrea served as a Senior Research Analyst for Paidos Health Management Services, where she was responsible for conducting clinical and outcomes research, developing reporting processes, and supporting business development efforts for disease and case management of compromised newborns. She played an integral part in development of the research data warehouse, which was instrumental in creating studies to support the scientific advisory board on neonatal guideline development.

 Managed and developed research protocols and initiated laboratory studies on neural pathways. Developed and maintained study database. Supervised a team of research and teaching assistants. Prepared and conducted lectures and laboratory divisions in neurobiology and anatomy.

 Assisted in the development of a UNIX database for entering and processing clinical trial study data. Created reporting procedures and templates using SAS and Excel products. Led a team of analysts on statistical validity and quality integrity checks of clinical trial study data. Served as a consultant to leading pharmaceutical organizations on data management and data analysis of Phase II and Phase III clinical studies. Developed clinical trail protocols with medical director’s team for Phase III international trials. Obtained certification in clinical study trial monitoring. Prepared and conducted internal consultant group training program for clinical research associates. Developed internal SOPs for monitoring studies and basic clinical data management.

 Conducted pre-clinical neuro-psychopharmacological trials testing the efficacy of specific agonists on neural dopamine receptor pathways. Integrated study data with other external medical and pharmacological data to better understand the kinetics of certain federally regulated drugs. Designed, implemented and maintained SAS study databases. Developed and submitted protocols for grant review.
