From there heading back to Norway via Bermuda and the Azores.• Covered 15k nautical miles with four friends, battling the elements of the ocean, gaining valuable experience in dealing with responsibilities, communication, and teamwork. • Responsible for the finances leading up to and throughout the year long trip.• Worked in collaboration with the Norwegian NGO, Project Haiti to raise funds to build a new health clinic on the island.• Secured sponsorship for the project from individuals as well as corporates which resulted in making a donation of $18k USD for the construction of the health clinic. • The clinic has the capacity to serve up to 300 people per day from one of Haiti´s most deprived communities.Key take aways: Leadership, organization, teamwork, crowdfunding, planning, building relationships, accounting.
